Deputy Chief Minister Rajendra Shukla has said that Dr. Kailashnath Katju Government Women’s Hospital is equipped with modern facilities for maternity and newborn care. The hospital has world class facilities like Operative Ward, Post Operative Care, MNCU, SNCU, Central Pathology Lab, Private Ward etc.. With adequate availability of medical and paramedical staff, this 300-bed government hospital is fully prepared to provide excellent medical services for maternity and the newborn.

During the inspection of Dr. Kailashnath Katju Government Hospital, Deputy Chief Minister Shukla instructed the attending doctors and paramedical staff to make efforts to make the delivery of services in the hospital equipped with state-of-the-art equipment and facilities, a pleasant experience for the visiting patients. The Deputy Chief Minister spoke to the patients admitted in the hospital and their families about the health services being provided to them in the hospital. The patients expressed satisfaction and apprised the Deputy Chief Minister with the excellent services.

Katju Hospital will be known as Government Women's Hospital

Deputy Chief Minister Shukla, directed that the name of the hospital should be changed to Dr. Kailashnath Katju Government Women’s Hospital so that the general public can become aware of the services being provided at the hospital and people could avail the services. The hospital will also help to reduce the workload related to maternity services in other government hospitals of the district like JP Hospital, Hamidia Hospital etc. The Deputy Chief Minister has also appealed to the public representatives and media representatives present to generate awareness about the hospital and its services.

300 bedded state-of-the-art Women’s and Children’s Hospital

Dr. Kailashnath Katju Government Hospital, located in the heart of Bhopal city, is a center, providing modern and improved health facilities for women and newborn babies. A huge courtyard of 16 thousand square meters, modern new building, modern medical facilities and equipment, skilled and trained doctors make the hospital unique in its field.

The hospital has Specialist Clinic and necessary management for complex pregnancy cases, 24 x 7 modern labour room and modular OT for normal and Caesarean delivery as well as pre-booking facility for delivery. Among prominent facilities available here are a well-equipped Obstetric ICU, gynecological treatment facilities for management of complex cases, Intensive Newborn Care Unit (SNCU) and Mother Neo Natal Care Unit (MNCU), Mother Milk Bank (Amrit Kalash) for newborn health care, services like vaccination etc.
