CM launches initiative to boost tourism at Burudih Dam

Chief Minister Champai Soren during his visit to the Burudih Dam in Ghatshila East Singhbhum district, instructed authorities to develop Burudih Dam into a premier national tourist destination. 

He emphasized that this initiative is a priority for his administration, reflecting the government's commitment to promoting Jharkhand's natural beauty and tourism potential.

He received a warm traditional welcome at the Burudih Reserved Forest (Ghatshila Forest Range). The visit was marked by cultural festivities and heartfelt greetings from the local community, showcasing the region's rich cultural heritage.

"Developing Burudih Dam as an excellent tourist destination is a priority," stated  Champai Soren, highlighting the strategic significance of this project.

Addressing the assembled villagers, Chief Minister Soren outlined the government's vision for transforming Burudih Dam. He noted that Jharkhand, with its stunning natural landscapes, has immense tourism potential. The state's action plan includes developing numerous religious, spiritual, and natural sites, such as mountains, dams, and waterfalls, into attractive tourist spots.

Soren, reminiscing about his long-standing familiarity with Burudih Dam's historic and natural significance, affirmed the government's objective to utilize the dam's water resources for the benefit of local farmers. He stressed that providing water to the agricultural community in the surrounding areas is a critical aspect of the development plan.

The Chief Minister announced that the state government aims to complete all necessary infrastructure developments at Burudih Dam within a fixed timeframe. These developments will include the construction of guest houses, playgrounds, parks, and other essential facilities. Ensuring electricity, water, and accommodation for tourists, along with improving road connectivity to the dam, are key components of this comprehensive plan.

Chief Minister Soren expressed his vision to elevate the Ghatsila region's profile by transforming Burudih Dam into a well-known tourist attraction. He also participated in a tree-planting ceremony, symbolizing the government's commitment to environmental conservation. During the event, he tied Raksha Sutra to the trees, advocating for their preservation.

During the inspection, Chief Minister Soren engaged with officials from various departments, including Tourism, Forest, and East Singhbhum District. He directed them to ensure seamless coordination and synergy in executing the development work at Burudih Dam within the stipulated time frame.

The visit was attended by prominent figures such as Ghatsila MLA  Ramdas Soren, Secretary to the Chief Minister  Arwa Rajkamal, Senior Superintendent of Police Jamshedpur  Kishore Kaushal, and senior officials from the concerned departments. Their presence underscored the collaborative efforts of various governmental bodies in realizing the development vision for Burudih Dam.

 The local administration said tha Soren's visit to Burudih Dam is aimed towards harnessing Jharkhand's tourism potential, with a focused approach on sustainable development and community benefits. The proposed initiatives are expected to create new opportunities for economic growth and enhance the state's attractiveness as a tourist destination, they added.
