Ranchi kid 8- year old Nehaal Hassan has secured an all India third position in the handwriting competition organised by Writing Wizard and conducted by Extraschool.
A student of standard III of St. Xavier’s School, Ranchi, Nehaal secured a place at the national level by winning the top spot at the State level for the session 2023- 24. The top five students from across the country will be felicitated on September 16 in Goa.
“In class prep and class I, my mother used erase my entire homework due to bad handwriting and I would have to redo it again. This is how I started to make an effort in writing neatly and also developed an interest in cursive writing,” said the budding calligraphist.
The competition was conducted in two phases- qualifying and finals where the participants had to copy the style and font given. The participants were competing against students from the same class across the country. The State level results were declared in June 2024 where Nehaal clinched the top spot in Jharkhand in the category of class II students.
“I like to collect to various kinds of pens and pencils and spend my free time by learning how to write in different fonts and styles. I also like to cricket, guitar and enjoy drawing as well. I am very fascinated with airplanes and want to become a pilot,” added Hassan.
A resident of Main Road, his parents Shadab Hassan and Neha Kaur are both professors in reputed colleges in Ranchi. He also has a younger brother Ruhaan.
“I am very happy with his achievements. Nehaal from such a young age is very sensitive and empathetic as a person. Whatever comes his way, he participates in it very sportingly and even takes failure or rejection in his stride,” said the proud mother Neha Kaur.
