The CID has arrested the cybercriminal who cheated many people of Jharkhand of about five crore rupees. The Cyber Cell team has taken this action on the instructions of CID DG Anurag Gupta.
The cybercriminal has been identified as Amit Jaiswal, a resident of Shankar Garden in Vikaspuri, Delhi. CID DG Anurag Gupta gave this information in a press conference on Wednesday.
This case is of November 2023, when the plaintiff had registered a case in the Cyber Cell police station. It was said in the registered complaint that the accused Shashi Shankar Kumar alias Vicky provided monetary benefits through gold bonds. Due to which the plaintiff started trusting the accused.
During this time, Shashi Shankar and his friend Amit Jaiswal asked the plaintiff to earn more money by investing in cryptocurrency. Amit Jaiswal lured people to earn more money in less time through the official website Oropay.
The cybercriminal did data mining through AI technology and assured investors of up to 300 per cent return by making them profit from 0.6 per cent to 1.2 per cent per day through Trader Pack and Pro Trader Pack according to their investment amount. Falling into this trap, people started investing more and more money.
Initially, as per the assurance to the investors, profit up to 300 per cent was returned on the primary investment. Due to which the confidence of the investors started increasing and the investors started motivating other people to invest in it.
The accused Shashi Shankar Kumar, Amit Jaiswal and other associates organized many big events in many cities of Jharkhand like Ranchi, Bokaro, Jamshedpur and other places and told people about Oro Pay. In this, free food and refreshments were arranged for the people. Not only this, an attempt was made to tell that the era of this money is over by tearing bundles of fake notes in the event.
Now is the era of cryptocurrency and will be in the future too. Seeing the increasing investment of people, the accused suddenly shut down the fake website one day. Due to this, the investors had to suffer huge losses.
