Chief Minister Mohan Yadav for maximising revenue receipts

Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has asked the concerning authorities to make all possible efforts for increasing the revenue receipts from various sources. The best practices by other states for collecting revenue receipts, the subject experts should be consulted and effective action plans must be suitably designed. Transparency should be maintained. Maximum revenue receipts will help give impetus to development.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav was reviewing the status of revenue receipts for the year 2024-25 at Samatva Bhawan here today. Chief Secretary Veera Rana, Additional Chief Secretary J.N. Kansotiya, S.N. Mishra, Dr. Rajesh Rajoura, Principal Secretary Finance Manish Singh, and officials of other departments were present.

Dr. Yadav said that by increasing vigilance in stamp and registration, it should be ensured that there is not much difference between the actual value of the land and the rate at which the registration is being done in the state. Rates should be adjusted in places where there is greater disparity in rates. Actions related to surprise inspection should be increased to prevent revenue loss in excise-related activities and to ensure the sale of goods as per rules. The lands of various departments including revenue, endowment, and other departments should be identified to ensure that there is no encroachment on them and their use should be ensured according to the importance of such lands to increase revenue receipts.

Yadav said that the number of checkpoints should be increased while using updated technology to monitor the mineral wealth coming out of the state. Drones and satellite surveys should be used to monitor whether mining activities take place in the designated area allotted for mining. Businessmen should be encouraged in mineral business, a policy should be made to maximise mineral-based industries.

Dr. Yadav said that forest resources-based industries should be encouraged. The target, current status, and upcoming action plans for revenue receipts from VAT, GST, stamp registration, mining, excise, revenue, mineral, transport, energy, forest, and irrigation sectors were discussed in detail.
