CEO instructs DEOs to step-up voter awareness activities

Conduct “Chalen Booth ki ore campaign” in all polling stations on May 1 and 7, 2024. Make a live communication with the voters, make them understand that voting is their constitutional right. Therefore, every voter must vote. Intensify voter awareness activities. Make voters aware by taking every necessary measure to bring them to the polling booth and ensure maximum voting. Chief Electoral Officer Anupam Rajan gave these instructions through video conferencing to the Collectors and District Election Officers related to the Lok Sabha parliamentary constituencies voting in the third and fourth phases on Monday. Rajan said that to increase the voting percentage, special activities should be made by planning a strategy, so that every voter mandatorily votes on the day of voting.

Rajan said that while contacting the voters, BLOs and other field staff should tell the voters that on the day of voting, they must bring the voter slip along with the voter ID card or any one of the 12 alternative photo documents, for verifying the voter’s identity. This will facilitate fast identification and they will be able to vote without any delay.

Rajan said that voter-interaction programmes should be organized in all the polling stations of parliamentary constituencies in the third and fourth phase of voting, in which all the voters of that booth should be invited. Also resolve their doubts by giving them all kinds of information related to voting. Voters can also be made to resolve to definitely vote.

Rajan said that all the collectors should ensure that BLOs themselves go to distribute voter slips and voter guides to voters and complete this work with full responsibility. BLOs urge voters to come to the polling station and definitely vote.

Rajan said that ‘Chalen booth ki ore campaign’ should be conducted with full seriousness.Awareness rallies, camps etc. and tell the voters that tomorrow is voting day and they have to vote. Apart from this, work more actively on the day of voting. Make announcement on the day of voting. Voters should be reminded by core group members to vote on the voting day. Everyone has to vote.

It should be publicized that awards will be given to the best BLO, best field worker and best Gram Panchayat for their contribution in increasing the voting percentage. Connect village level people with voter awareness activities, this will also help in increasing voting. Arrangements for medical kits should also be made for the polling parties along with protection from extreme heat during voting. On the day of voting, there should be continuous monitoring of polling stations through webcasting.

The voter list will be read and voter slips will be distributed by the BLO. The voter slip will be verified by the sector officer. Main-to-main marking will be done to bring the differently abled and elderly voters who will vote at the polling station to the polling station.

Local sports competition at all polling stations, human chain, women’s rally, rangoli competition by self-help groups, reading of oath/resolution letter to local citizens, Prabhat feri, mehandi competition, cuisine competition, street drama, bicycle/motor activities like cycle rally, painting competition should be organized to generate voter awareness.

In the third phase, voting is to be held in 9 Lok Sabha constituencies of the state under which the campaign will be run at 20 thousand 456 polling stations. This includes Betul, Morena, Bhind, Gwalior, Guna, Sagar, Vidisha, Bhopal and Rajgarh Lok Sabha constituencies.

In the fourth phase, this campaign will be run at 18 thousand 7 polling stations in 8 Lok Sabha constituencies of the state. This includes Dewas, Ujjain, Mandsaur, Ratlam, Dhar, Indore, Khargone, Khandwa Lok Sabha constituencies.
