Celebrate festivals in peaceful and harmonious environment: DC

Tuesday, 16 July 2024 | PNS | Lohardaga

Under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Dr. Waghmare Prasad Krishna, a meeting related to security and law and order regarding Muharram festival and Ghurti Rath Yatra on 17th July was organized in the meeting room of District Council Office, Lohardaga. During the meeting, various points were discussed to conduct Muharram and Ghurti Rath in a peaceful and harmonious environment in the district. In the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner said that peace is maintained in the entire district only because of the cooperation of the members of the Peace Committee. This festival has been celebrated peacefully for the last two years. There is full confidence that the festival of Muharram will also be completed peacefully. Superintendent of Police Haris Bin Zaman said that the members of the peace committee should play their role properly in maintaining peace in the district.

We also need to celebrate the upcoming Muharram and Ghurti Rath responsibly. To avoid any kind of accident, keep the height of Tazia flags low so that they do not touch the electric wires and no accident occurs. Anti-social elements were identified and asked to inform the administration. Only the flag of Muharram should remain in the Muharram procession. Not about anything else. The Peace Committee should keep its eyes on this. For security reasons, the electricity system will remain closed on the day of the fair. Special attention will be kept on rumors on social media. In the meeting, the Peace Committee members from all the blocks presented the problems of their respective areas and informed about the fair to be organized and the procession to be taken out on the occasion of Muharram. Sub-divisional officers, all district level officers, executive magistrates, all police station in-charges, officers of all blocks and members of peace committee and others were present on the occasion.
