CBI arrests NCL officials in Singrauli, recover Rs 3.85 crore cash

The Central bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested five people after a two-day raid on people and officials associated with Northern Coalfields Limited (NCL) in Singrauli. A DSP of CBI has also been arrested on charges of taking bribes, CBI has recovered Rs 3.85 crore in cash during the entire operation.

After the day-long raid on Sunday, the CBI team also raided the houses of two NCL officials Sunil Prasad Singh and Ravindra Prasad on Monday. During this, the team scrutinized important documents.

The arrested are identified as Subedar Ojha, personal secretary of NCL CMD, Basant Kumar Singh, Chief Manager (Administration), NCL, Ravi Shankar Singh, owner of M/s Sangam Engineering, Divesh Singh, associate of Ravi Shankar Singh and Jabalpur CBI DSP Joy Joseph Damle

CBI recovered a huge amount of cash, digital devices and several objectionable documents during the search at their place.

According to the CBI, Ravi Shankar Singh, middleman and owner of Singrauli-based M/s Sangam Engineering, who was allegedly acting as a mediator between various contractors, traders and several officials of Northern Coalfields Limited, has also been arrested. It is alleged that he was working to deliver bribes and facilitate the officers of Northern Coalfields Limited.

Ravi Shankar Singh's associate Divesh Singh had gone to Jabalpur to give a bribe of Rs 5 lakh to a CBI officer. That's when he was arrested. Ravi Shankar Singh and Divesh Singh were working as middlemen between NCL (Northern Coalfields Limited) officials and CBI DSP.

In the action CBI has arrested Jabalpur CBI, ACB Branch Deputy Superintendent of Police Joy Joseph Damle red handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 5 lakh for giving favorable reports in pending complaints and investigation cases.

During the action on Monday, CBI posted guards at the gate of NCL officer Sunil Prasad's house. On Monday, the houses of these officers were raided, one absconded.

On Monday morning at 7 the CBI team raided the residence of NCL's Director Technical Planning and Project Sunil Prasad Singh and Chief Security Officer Ravindra Prasad.

Ravindra Prasad was found missing from his house. Information about his absconding has come to the fore. After this, the local police team has been deployed at his house. Which has been given strict instructions that no person should enter the bungalow.

CBI has got barricading done outside Ravindra Prasad's house after he absconded. A CBI team came from Delhi for investigation.

At the same time, a three-member CBI team reached the house of NCL's Director Technical Planning and Project Sunil Prasad Singh and investigated. Information is being received from sources that the CBI investigation is being done by the team that has arrived from Delhi. Which is being conducted by Additional SP Mukesh Kumar. When NCL PRO Ramvijay Singh was asked about this matter, he said that he has no information about it and hence cannot confirm it.
