The Centre on Wednesday urged people not to fall prey to rumours regarding a proposed hit-and-run law, the Chhattisgarh government said.
Reportedly, some malicious elements are misleading transport organizations and drivers through fake letters. The government told the drivers not to pay any attention to the rumours.
The Union Home Ministry has clarified that the new law has not been implemented yet.
Further decisions will be taken only after a dialogue with the representatives of the All India Motor Transport Congress.
