BSES issues guidelines on safety during monsoon

Wednesday, 03 July 2024 | Staff Reporter | New Delhi

With monsoon setting in the national capital, BSES has everyone to follow simple safety guidelines and practice social distancing from electrical infrastructure to ensure safety. Issuing these instructions on Tuesday, BSES said monsoons often lead to water logging, strong winds, and falling branches, which can damage electrical installations and cause power outages.

To protect both lives and equipment, BSES may need to temporarily switch off the electricity supply in affected areas as a precautionary measure. Together, by adhering to these safety protocols, BSES and its consumers can navigate the monsoon season safely and efficiently..

" We are geared up to ensure reliable power supply to our over 50 lakh consumers and over 2 crore residents while taking all safety measures that are required during rainy season. Consumers can play a very important role in ensuring an incident free monsoon by following simple safety guidelines," BSES officials said. In the event you notice any fallen cable, pole or exposed wiring or an emergency please inform us on 19123 / 011 49516707 (for South & West Delhi) and 19122 / 011 41999808 for (East & Central Delhi) areas.

To ensure that our consumers and around Delhi residents enjoy an incident free power supply, BSES Rajdhani Power Limited (BRPL) and BSES Yamuna Power Limited (BYPL), are undertaking all possible measures. The discoms' monsoon action plan has an integrated and proactive approach, which is not only aimed at ensuring consumers' safety but is also aimed at minimizing the down time of power supply arising out of exigencies during monsoon.
