foreign national again managed to breach the tight security and allegedly entered the Jagannath Temple in Puri on Saturday.
The foreigner, identified as Thomas Craig Sheldon, from Britain was spotted roaming near the Beharan Gate in the premises of the temple in the afternoon.
Sheldon with a tonsured head was dressed up in traditional Indian clothes.
Getting information, the Singhadwar police detained the foreign national for questioning. The police came to know about his identity from his driving licence.
The police examined the CCTV footage from the temple as part of their investigation into the incident.
Earlier in the day, Sea Beach police station personnel had detained a foreign national for causing nuisance on the beach near Swargadwar in an inebriated condition.
A few Bangladeshi nationals had been caught while entering the Shreemandir on March 3.
Notably, non-Hindus are banned from entering the shrine.
