Payments of Rs 8931 crore to farmers for Paddy and Bajra procurement in Hry
Chandigarh: Haryana Government on Monday said that the purchase process of Paddy and Bajra crops is progressing smoothly in in the state. For Paddy and Bajra purchase, a payment of Rs.8931 crore has been made directly into the bank accounts of the farmers out of which Rs.8084 crore has been paid to Paddy farmers and Rs.847 crore to Bajra farmers. An official spokesperson of the Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department said that the purchase of Paddy and Bajra in the ‘Mandis’ is ongoing smoothly during the procurement season. So far 45,50473 metric tonnes of Paddy has arrived in various ‘Mandis’. Out of the total arrival, 43,02418 metric tonnes of Paddy has been purchased by the agencies at MSP. Continuous lifting of Paddy from the ‘Mandis’ is also being ensured. At the same time, so far 43,0193 metric tonnes of Bajra has arrived in various ‘Mandis’, out of which 41,7771 metric tonnes of Bajra has also been purchased at MSP.
Chd MC celebrates “Swachh Deepotsav”

This event marked the city launch of the "Swachh Diwali - Shubh Diwali" campaign (October 28 to November 3), emphasizing the principles of ‘Swabhav Swachhata, Sanskaar Swachhata’ following the national launch by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Government of India. City Mayor Kuldeep Kumar, MC Commissioner Amit Kumar, along with councilors, MCC officials, Safaimitras, SBM Brand Ambassador Praveen Duggal, Self-Help Groups (SHGs), and citizens, initiated the campaign by lighting 600 Govardhan diyas, spreading the message of celebrating a green and sustainable Diwali. MC Commissioner Amit Kumar emphasized that a massive citywide cleanliness drive, led by Safaimitras and citizens, is already underway to celebrate the festival, spreading the message of cleanliness and leading by example.
Haryana Environment Minister inaugurates 4 anti-smog guns in Gurugram
Gurugram: Haryana Industry, Environment, Forest and Wildlife Minister Rao Narbir Singh on Monday inaugurated four anti-smog guns launched by Municipal Corporation Gurugram (MCG) in the Civil Lines area. The minister said that the Government is working seriously to reduce environmental pollution. Under this new introduction, mechanised cleaning of roads is being done. Apart from this, sprinkling of water on roads and trees is going on continuously to prevent dust from flying. "To ensure compliance with Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) rules, teams are monitoring different areas, and action is also being taken against those doing banned activities. Increasing environmental pollution is a matter of concern for all of us and everyone should give their cooperation for pollution control," Rao said. He pointed out that the second phase of GRAP has been implemented in the Delhi-NCR region by the Air Quality Management Commission, and everyone should follow the restrictions imposed under it so that we can get a clean environment.
