PM Modi to address fourth election rally in Faridabad today

Chandigarh: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address an election meeting in Faridabad on Tuesday (October 1), the fourth in the state since the announcement of the polls slated on October 5. A BJP leader said that the preparations for the rally are in full swing, and it will be held on the Faridabad-Palwal border in Prithla Assembly constituency. The Prime Minister will seek votes in support of BJP candidates in all nine Assembly constituencies of the district, he added. Faridabad Police, meanwhile, have issued a traffic advisory to ensure smooth traffic flow and law and order. To ensure smooth traffic flow, and maintain law and order, several restrictions will be in place from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. As per the advisory, the entry of all types of heavy and light motor vehicles (LMVs) into the district of Palwal from Faridabad and Delhi will be prohibited. The restrictions will also be on vehicles travelling on the Agra-Mathura Highway (NH-44).

 
Congress expels 10 leaders for six years for indulging in anti-party activities

Chandigarh: Congress on Monday expelled 10 leaders from the party for 6 years for indulging in anti-party activities. "The disciplinary committee of the All India Congress Committee (AICC), has expelled Chitra Sarwara, Satvinder Rana, Kapoor Singh Narwal and Virender Ghoghrian among others. Meanwhile, BJP also expelled eight party leaders for a period of six years due to their decision to contest the Assembly elections as independent candidates. Among those expelled are notable figures such as former minister Ranjit Chautala and former MLA Devendra Kadyan.

399 arrested, liquor worth Rs 95.43 lakh seized so far after MCC implementation in Gurugram

Gurugram: 399 people were arrested and Rs 95.43 lakh worth of liquor was seized from across Gurugram district after the imposition of Model Code of Conduct (MCC) for the Assembly polls in the State, police said on Monday. Giving details, police said in a statement that 26,351.805 litres of liquor worth over Rs 95.43 lakh have been seized within the period of 16 September to 29 September after the imposition of the poll code.

BJP will protect reservation: Union Education Minister Pradhan

Karnal: BJP Haryana election in-charge and Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Monday pledged that the party would protect reservation and accused the Congress of opposing the same for Dalits and other communities. He announced that the birth anniversary of Rani Ahilyabai Holkar would be celebrated across the state. Pradhan highlighted that people from 36 communities across the state had joined hands with the BJP, including the Pal Gadariya community, which he said was associated with Rani Ahilyabai Holkar. “Prime Minister Modi has dedicated himself to the ideals and bravery of Ahilyabai. If the BJP forms the government for the third time in Haryana, we will celebrate Rani Ahilyabai’s birth anniversary at the state level across the entire state,” he said. Pradhan was addressing a state-level Pal Gadariya Mahapanchayat in the city and said that as long as Narendra Modi was the Prime Minister, no one would be able to abolish reservation.

Kejriwal promises 12 lakh jobs, better health and education infrastructure in Haryana

Karnal: AAP national convener and former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Monday exhorted people to bring change, in the upcoming Assembly polls in the state, for better health and education infrastructure. Addressing a public meeting in Assandh in favour of party’s candidate Amandeep Singh Jundla, Kejriwal promised five guarantees, including free and uninterrupted power, upliftment of schools, free healthcare infrastructure and 12 lakh jobs. “Give me a chance, I will assure free electricity, quality healthcare in government hospitals similar on the lines of Delhi and Punjab,” said the AAP convener. Accompanied by state president Dr Sushil Gupta, Kejriwal accused the BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi for sending him to jail.“PM Modi hatched a conspiracy, leveled false accusations, made up a fake case, and threw me in jail,” he alleged.

Election campaigning for 15th Haryana Assembly Elections-2024 will come to end at 6 PM on Oct 3: CEO 


Chandigarh: Haryana Chief Electoral Officer Pankaj Agarwal on Monday said that the election campaigning for the Assembly Elections will come to an end at 6 PM on October 3. After 6 PM, no political party or candidate will be allowed to hold public meetings or rallies. Apart from this, as per the Election Commission’s guidelines, except for the candidate’s election agent, other party workers, leaders, and campaigners who are not voters of the concerned constituency will not be permitted to remain in that constituency. Voting for all 90 Assembly constituencies in Haryana will take place on October 5 from 7 AM to 6 PM. Agarwal further said that all campaigning must stop during the 48-hour period leading up to the end of voting. During this period, no candidate is allowed to organize or participate in any public meeting. Further, no election-related material can be displayed through cinematography, television, or other devices. Political campaigns using music concerts, theater programs, or other entertainment forms to attract the public are also prohibited during this time. The use of loudspeakers will also be banned, the CEO added.
