Punjab Haryana under intense cold wave conditions

Chandigarh: Cold wave conditions continued in Punjab and Haryana with minimum temperatures staying below the normal levels in most parts of both states on Wednesday.  Ballowal Saunkhri in Punjab's Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar district recorded zero degrees Celsius, according to a report from the Meteorological Department here.  Among other places in Punjab, Amritsar recorded a low of 2 degrees Celsius while Ludhiana and Patiala experienced cold wave conditions at 2.8 and 4.5 degrees Celsius respectively, which were up to three degrees below normal. Pathankot, Bathinda, Faridkot and Gurdaspur recorded a minimum temperature of 4.9, 3.4, 2.5 and 5 degrees Celsius, respectively. Chandigarh also reeled under the cold wave, recording a low of 4.9 degrees Celsius. In Haryana, Karnal was the coldest place as it recorded a low of 3.4 degrees Celsius, which was 3 degrees below normal. Ambala, Hisar, Narnaul and Rohtak experienced cold wave at 4.9, 5.8, 3.5 and 6.4 degrees Celsius while Bhiwani and Sirsa recorded minimum temperatures of 3.5 and 5.6 degrees Celsius, respectively.

Chandigarh Smart City participates in 31st Convergence India and ninth Smart Cities India Expo

Chandigarh: Chandigarh Smart City showcased its achievements in the 31st Convergence India & 9th Smart Cities India Expo organized at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. “As an exhibitor, Chandigarh Smart City featured initiatives such as the Integrated Command & Control Centre (ICCC) Dashboard, the successful Adaptive Traffic Control System (ATCS), Real time Video Analytics and the state of art Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) Diggian. At the Expo, the Public Bike Sharing Project has also been showcased in an exclusive section with visuals of Chandigarh’s dedicated cycle tracks, bus queue shelter and Smart bikes. Chandigarh Municipal Corporation’s Horticulture waste products, C&D products, and innovative items made from floral waste have also been put on display.” said Anindita Mitra, Chief Executive Officer, Chandigarh Smart City Limited.

Network-related problems faced at Haryana 112 and Cyber Helpline No. 1930 addressed

Chandigarh: Haryana Director General Police Shatrujeet Kapur met with representatives of telecom companies to address network problems faced with helpline numbers 112 and 1930. During a meeting with representatives of telecom companies, Kapur provided a comprehensive list of identified problem areas and issued instructions to rectify them promptly. The objective of the meeting was to find a permanent solution to network-related challenges faced by Haryana 112 and Cyber Helpline No. 1930. 

DGP initiates measures for Police welfare in Panchkula

Panchkula: Haryana DGP Shatrujeet Kapur on Wednesday inaugurated the Central Mess for police personnel at the Sector-14 police station in Panchkula. During his visit, Kapur examined the arrangements at the central mess and actively participated by sharing a meal with the officers. This newly inaugurated mess, the second in Panchkula district, follows the successful launch of a similar facility at the MDC police station earlier. 

Hry CM pays obeisance on Guru Gobind Singh Jayanti

Chandigarh: On the occasion of Guru Gobind Singh Jayanti, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Wednesday paid obeisance at Gurudwara Lakhnaur Sahib in Ambala district. He offered prayers for the prosperity, well-being, and happiness of the country and state residents. The Chief Minister extended heartfelt congratulations to the gathering on the celebrations being observed with grandeur across the country.  Khattar said that the Gurudwara Lakhnaur Sahib, intimately associated with Guru Gobind Singh, holds memories of him and his mother. He said remembering the courage, valour, sacrifices, and contributions of our Gurus is a source of inspiration for the younger generation.
