Bokaro, June 24, 2024: On the occasion of International Olympic Day, the Bokaro District Olympic Association kicked off a fortnight-long celebration with a cross-country race. The event will feature various sports competitions organized by different sports associations, including kabaddi, kho-kho, athletics, basketball, football, and judo.
District Olympic Association President, Bipin Kumar Singh, announced that the responsibility for organizing the events in various locations within the district has been assigned to the respective sports associations. A certificate distribution ceremony by the Jharkhand Olympic Association will be held in Ranchi on June 29.
Singh emphasized the association's continuous efforts to encourage athletes in Bokaro. He stated that the association is committed to expanding sports and ensuring a bright future for the athletes. Several emerging athletes from Bokaro have already made a name for the district at national and international levels.
Prominent attendees at the event included Rajeshwar Singh, Ram Lakhan Mistry, Sunit Malik, Rajeev Kumar Singh, Mahendra Prasad, Sanjeev Kumar, Gangadhar Prasad, and Sanjay Kumar.
