A cordial and constructive review meeting was held at the District Collectorate Bokaro , where Deputy Commissioner (DC) Vijaya Jadhav engaged with Bokaro Steel Limited (BSL) management to address key issues impacting the district. Among the primary topics discussed was the need to allocate 20 acres of land for developing a transport hub to alleviate traffic congestion caused by heavy vehicles near the district headquarters. The DC urged BSL management to work in coordination with the Chas Circle Officer to finalize the land.
The meeting also included discussions on the progress of setting up a Solid Waste Management (SWM) unit in B.S. City. BSL officials informed that the proposal is currently under consideration at the board level. DC Jadhav emphasized the importance of regular follow-ups to expedite the project and ensure effective waste disposal in the city.
Another significant issue discussed was the land valuation process for the Kolkata-Amritsar Industrial Corridor. The DC advised officials to reassess the valuation process meticulously and submit a comprehensive report to the district administration to ensure transparency and efficiency in the project.
Urban development and infrastructure improvement initiatives were also a major focus of the meeting. DC Jadhav provided key directives, including the implementation of barricades for improved traffic management, clearing road encroachments, issuing No Objection Certificates (NOCs) for constructing the Collectorate building, and exploring alternative water supply schemes for BSL plants and residential townships.
The meeting, held in a cordial and collaborative atmosphere, was attended by BSL TA Chief Kundan Kumar, General Manager A.K. Singh, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Alok Ranjan, Assistant Public Relations Officer (APRO) Avinash Kumar, and other senior officials from BSL and the district administration. The session concluded with all stakeholders agreeing on the importance of expediting the discussed initiatives to ensure the holistic development of Bokaro.
