Sunday, 04 August 2024 | PNS | BOKARO

After two days of continuous rainfall ceased on Saturday, Deputy Development Commissioner (DDC) Girija Shankar Prasad, Additional Collector (AC) M. Mumtaz Ansari, and Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) Chas Om Prakash Gupta inspected various areas of the city following directives from Deputy Commissioner Vijaya Jadhav. They issued essential guidelines to the officers and personnel engaged in relief operations.

The DDC, AC, and SDO inspected the Dundi Bagh, Sector 12, and Sector 9 areas of Bokaro Steel City. They directed BSL TA Department officials to ensure proper drainage in waterlogged areas, relocate residents from dilapidated quarters caused by heavy rainfall, and expedite the repair work of quarter buildings in the city.

The officials also inspected various wards in the Chas Municipal Corporation area. They gathered information from the municipal administration regarding drainage and cleaning of drains in waterlogged areas. They instructed the installation of additional pumps for water drainage and the sprinkling of bleaching powder in the affected wards.

Furthermore, the officials visited Sadar Hospital Bokaro to assess the situation. They discussed the cleanliness of the hospital premises and the preparedness for treating diseases that might arise due to the heavy rainfall and resultant waterlogging with the Civil Surgeon and the hospital superintendent. The Civil Surgeon was directed to ensure the availability of medical teams and additional beds. Similar arrangements were also to be ensured at Community Health Centers and Primary Health Centers.
