On July 15, a blood donation camp was organized to mark the 50th Foundation Day of Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL). The event was held jointly by the Bokaro General Hospital Blood Bank and the HPCL Bokaro Depot at Balidih, Bokaro. During the camp, HPCL employees donated 20 units of blood.
The primary aim of this blood donation camp was to provide blood for thalassemia patients and raise awareness about the importance of blood donation to prevent loss of lives due to blood shortages. It was highlighted that one unit of blood can save up to three lives. Any healthy male aged between 18 and 60 can voluntarily donate blood four times a year, while a healthy female can donate three times a year. Blood donation does not cause any weakness in the body.
Present at the event were Dr. Surendra Kumar from the Bokaro General Hospital Blood Bank, Jharkhand government counselor Kavita Kumar, and Bokaro General Hospital Blood Bank staff members Rajita Ekka, Reshma, Manish Patrick, Mahendra Prasad, Saurav, Vibhutika, and Kaushal, among others.
