BJP terms new sympathy for Sita Soren as drama

Wednesday, 19 June 2024 | PNS | Ranchi

State BJP spokesperson Pratul Shahdeo countering Jharkhand Mukti Morcha leader's remark on BJP candidate from Dumka Sita Soren, said that today these people are shedding crocodile tears for Sita Soren. Pratul said that when Sita Soren accused the Soren family of neglecting her and her daughters, JMM remained silent. When Sita Soren called the death of her agitator husband late Durga Soren suspicious and demanded a high-level investigation into it, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha was shocked. No action has been taken till date. Pratul said that when the first family of the ruling coalition expects an elder daughter-in-law like a mother, then it is meaningless to expect justice for the common people from them.

Sita Soren the eldest daughter-in-law of JMM patriarch Shibu Soren had quit JMM and contested Dumka Lok Sabha seat on BJP ticket only to face defeat. Sita after remaining mum for days, targeted BJP local leadership for the Lok Sabha debacle. The JMM being sympathetic had targeted BJP leadership.

Shahdeo replying to JMM allegations said that if Jharkhand Mukti Morcha is sympathetic to Sita Soren then they should also respond to the serious allegations levelled on the government at different times by its own coalition MLAs Lobin Hembram, Chamra Linda, Amba Prasad, Irfan Ansari, Deepika Pandey Singh by holding a press conference.

Pratul said that after the results of the Lok Sabha elections, the ruling coalition has become desperate. When these people won the elections in 2019, they had 48 MLAs and the support of three independent MLAs. In this Lok Sabha election, the NDA alliance led by the Bharatiya Janata Party was ahead in 50 seats while the Indy alliance was reduced to only 29 seats. They know that they are going to be wiped out in the next election. That is why they have resorted to making baseless statements.

Pratul said that the BJP's review meeting is going on in the entire state. Workers are giving feedback smoothly at most places. There was only information about some outside elements creating a ruckus in Deoghar. This entire issue is in the knowledge of the state leadership.

Pratul said that the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha should also look at the track record of its ally Congress in Jharkhand. On June 21, 2013, dozens of rounds of bullets were fired in broad daylight in the battle for supremacy between two factions in Congress Bhawan, Ranchi and the police took many people into custody. On July 1, 2019, during the review meeting of the defeat in the Lok Sabha, the then state president Dr. Ajay Kumar was not even allowed to enter the Congress office and the police had to use force.

The Congress office was converted into a police camp. At that time also many people were detained. Pratul said that the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha-led government had got three MLAs of its own alliance arrested in Kolkata by filing cases against them. They were also tortured in jail for a long time. Pratul said that Jharkhand Mukti Morcha, which is surrounded from all sides in cases of corruption, breach of promise, unemployment, women harassment, etc., is trying to set a new narrative to divert attention.
