Strict action is continuously being taken to curb illegal drug trade in the state capital and nearby areas and from time to time the police take action to crack down on drug dealers. The seized goods are disposed of from time to time after the case is closed.
Under this process, Bhopal police would dispose of 127 kg of narcotics. Which includes intoxicants like MDMA, charas, ganja and courex. The value of the narcotics to be disposed of, in the international market is said to be more than Rs 15 crore.
Policemen have weighed drugs in the crime branch office. After which these intoxicants filled in sacks will be disposed of.
Additional DCP Shailendra Singh Chauhan said that 127 kg of drugs seized by various police stations and crime branches of the city are to be disposed of. All these narcotics were recovered in 29 cases. All these cases have been resolved by the court. After which permission to dispose of it is taken from the High Court.
It is being told that as soon as the NDPS Act case is resolved, the court orders to dispose of the drug. Thus, the drugs seized in 29 cases have been collected in large numbers in the crime branch and other police stations. After the court order, permission has to be taken from the Central Government for its destruction. Bhopal Police will send an application to the Central Government for this permission, the process of its destruction will be completed within 15 days of sending the application.
Additional DCP Shailendra Singh Chauhan said that these drugs are properly disposed of in cement factories. During this period, special care is taken about security. Video recording of the entire process is also done.
