A two minutes silence was observed by blowing siren at 9.30 am in BHEL Bhopal factory on Tuesday to pay tribute to the victims of Bhopal Gas Tragedy.
All the department heads/employees paid tribute by standing at their workplace.It is worth mentioning that like every year, this year also "Industrial Safety Week" is being celebrated from December 3 to 9. Various awareness and training programs will be organized during the Industrial Safety Week.
In this sequence, awareness lectures on safety, safety talks, large safety inspections, safety related announcements at gates, display of safety related flex and banners at various places in the entire factory, firefighting training and other mock drills will also be organized in various manufacturing departments throughout the week.
Learning from the horrors of the Bhopal Gas Tragedy and assessing the potential disaster, BHEL Bhopal organized a “Mock Drill” in the Gas and Power Plant area to review its preparedness. After the mock drill, officials of all the involved departments - CISF-Fire, GPX and HSE department gathered at the assembly point where a detailed discussion was held on the deficiencies found during the mock drill and the possible improvements.
