The illegal drug smuggler arrested by the Awadhpuri police claimed that he used to sell Pani Puri (Phulki) cart, three times the Municipal Corporation confiscated his cart claiming it encroachment. Fed up with this, he started smuggling Cannabis.
Awadhpuri Police has seized 1.200 kg of ganja worth Rs 22000 from the possession of the accused.
The police have taken action against the accused under the NDPS Act.
ACP Deepak Nayak said that the Awadhpuri police station had received input that a person named Sushil Joshi was roaming around in the BDA colony coming under the police station area to sell ganja. When the police formed a team and surrounded and caught him, during interrogation the accused told that he is a resident of Jhansi in UP.
A few years ago he came to Bhopal to do the business of Pani Puri (Phulki). He used to run a Pani Puri cart in the Awadhpuri area of the city. But the municipal corporation employees used to take away his cart repeatedly in the name of encroachment.
