Sensation prevailed in the Aishbagh area after a woman and her sister were stabbed to death by her Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) husband on Tuesday afternoon; the couple had estranged relationship for the past five years.
Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) Yogesh Marave, posted in Mandla, killed his wife and sister-in-law by stabbing them with a knife. When the ASI was attacking his wife and sister-in-law with a knife, the maid arrived in the house. She got scared after hearing screams from inside the house and immediately informed the neighbors about this and then neighbors informed the police.
Before the police reached the spot, the accused fled the crime scene. When the police went inside the house the two women were found lying soaked in blood.
The police searched the CCTV footage installed in front of the house, and the accused ASI was seen escaping from the spot. The police, along with the FSL team, searched the house. The police have collected necessary evidence from the spot.
However, the knife which was used in the crime was not found by the police. It is believed that the accused ASI has taken the knife with him.
According to DCP Zone-1 Priyanka Shukla, "ASI Yogesh Maravi's wife Vinita Maravi lived in a rented house with her sister. ASI was having a dispute with Vinita for the last 5 years. The maid working at Vinita's house informed the police about the incident. The maid told that when she was coming to the house to work, Yogesh Maravi pushed her and entered the house and closed the door from inside. He committed the entire incident within about 5 minutes."
According to the police, the maid also heard the sound of screaming. The accused escaped the spot within a few minutes. After this, the maid informed Vinita's family and neighbors. When the police opened the door of the house, the bodies of both were recovered in the bedroom. It is clear from this that Yogesh Maravi has murdered his wife and sister-in-law.
The family members told that Vinita Maravi was married 10 years ago. The age of the dead women is between 30 to 35 years. Now the police are trying to trace the accused ASI.
