Areas to be visited by Prez Murmu declared as ‘No Drone Zone’

President Droupadi Murmu will arrive in Jharkhand on September 19, on a two-day visit to the State. During the trip, she will visit Namkom in Ranchi-based ICAR- National Institute of Secondary Agriculture (NISA) to celebrate its 100th foundation day. 

ICAR- NISA, formerly the Indian Institute of Natural Resins and Gums, located at Namkum, Ranchi, in the Jharkhand state, is a unit of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR).

Prior to this, the Institute was known as Indian Lac Research Institute. It was established on September 20, 1924, and thus, one of the oldest institutions within the ICAR system, having completed the journey of 100 years of fruitful services to the Nation.

On September 20, President Murmu will participate in the ICAR- NISA programme. She is also scheduled to plant a sapling to kick start the plantation campaign under the banner of “ Ek Podha Maa Ke Nam(Plant a tree in the name of Mother). 

On the same day, President Murmu will be chief guest at the ICAR- NISA’s Foundation function. Among VVIPs to attend this event is Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan.

The district administration as part of security arrangement has declared the several areas in State Capital as No Drone Zone. From the security point of view, the areas around Birsa Munda Airport to Raj Bhavan and the program venue have been declared a No Drone Zone by the Sub-Divisional Magistrate Sadar, Ranchi, completely prohibiting Drones, Paragliding and Hot Air Ballons and other related activities.

From the security point of view, the Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Sadar, Ranchi has issued the following prohibitory orders using the powers conferred under Section 163 of BNSS: On 19.09.2024, from Birsa Munda Airport to Hinoo Chowk to Birsa Chowk to Argora Chowk to Raj Bhavan and on 20.09.2024, from Raj Bhavan to Argora Chowk via Kadru via Rajendra Chowk to Sadabahar Chowk to a radius of 200 meters of ICAR National Institute of Secondary Agriculture, Tata Road, Namkum, Ranchi has been declared as No Fly Zone in respect of Drones, Paragliding and Hot Air Ballons, along with this, Drones, Paragliding and Hot Air Ballons will be completely prohibited in and above the said area. This prohibition will be in force from 05:00 am to 10:00 pm on 19th and 20th September 2024.

Meanwhile, ahead of the Assembly polls by year end, their visit is considered significant for the BJP. Even in Ranchi, the BJP state election incharge and Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan who will welcome the President Murmu at the airport in Ranchi and participate in the centenary function of ICAR- NISA, has already guided party leaders to start operating at the booth level across 81 assembly constituencies.
