Ranchi's Bhagwan Birsa Munda Smriti Park i.e. Jail Park is soaked in a Bengali environment for two days from today. The second edition of Paush Mela is being organized in Jail Park on December 28 and December 29 by Bengali Yuva Manch Charitable Trust.
This traditional fair is absolutely free for the people of Ranchi, for which the visitors enter from the East Gate located on Jail Road.
The Paush Mela is being held on December 28 and December 29, visitors will get an opportunity to know closely about the tradition and traditional cuisine of the Bengali community.
During this, the decoration of Bengali environment is seen from the entrance made for the fair itself. The entire venue has been decorated with traditional Dheka, Chalni, Tukri and hand fans made of palm leaves. This information was given by the Chief Patron of the Trust Supriyo Bhattacharya on Friday.
In this regard, Bhattacharya informed that cultural programs and many competitions are also be organized during the 2-day Paush Mela. However, in view of the 7-day national mourning declared in the country on the demise of former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, the organizing committee has decided to hold the opening ceremony of the fair in a simple manner, he added.
The Paush Mela started on Saturday, December 28 at 1 pm, which was inaugurated at 05:30 pm.
Artists from many nearby states including Jharkhand will come to perform at the Paush Mela of the Bang community. In this, a painting and drawing competition will be organized from 1 pm on Saturday, in which artists will display their handicrafts.
At the same time, a fashion show will be held at 6:00 pm. After this, a comedy drama will be staged by Maulali Rangshilpi Kolkata from around 06:40 pm. Saregama Kolkata fame Gurujeet Singh will perform at the fair from 07:30 pm on Saturday.
