Anganwadi worker assistants sat on indefinite dharna in front of Raj Bhavan on Saturday for their eight point demands.
The women participating in the dharna said that there are 38 thousand Anganwadi workers and about 35 thousand assistants in the entire state. We have been demanding our rights from the government since 2016. We have done strikes and demonstrations many times for this. We have been getting only assurances, but this time we are ready to fight till the end for our rights. They said that a cabinet meeting is going to be held on October 8. In this, all the demands of our rules will have to be fulfilled.
Ranchi District President Suman Kumari said that a cabinet meeting will be held on October 8. If the demands of Anganwadi worker assistants are not met in this, then people will be asked to boycott the vote by going door to door. He said that a rally was called in Morhabadi on September 23. Giridih MLA had attended it. There was an assurance of passing it in the cabinet on September 27, then the rally was ended, but this time assurance is not needed.
Sudha Linda of Kanke block said that after 60 years everyone will retire. After this they will become unemployed. A lump sum of Rs 10 lakh should be given in retirement, so that we can support our family. Along with this, the money for work should be given on time. Alleged that incentive amount and fuel money are not given on time.
Ranchi District Treasurer Sita Tigga said that the present government had assured to fulfill the demand in 2019 but the government is refusing to fulfill the demand. The government is cheating. In equal pay for equal work, Anganwadi Sevika should get Rs 25 thousand every month and Sahayika should get Rs 15 thousand. Revati Devi of Bokaro district said that all Anganwadis in the state are on indefinite dharna. Due to this, Anganwadi centres will start closing down. Children between three and five years of age will be deprived of nutritious food.
The rules should be completed, the amount of nutrition for Anganwadi centres should be made available at market rate, the payment of honorarium should be completed on time, - Promotion should be given on the basis of 100% seniority to the post of female supervisor.
As per the order of the Supreme Court, the honorarium anomaly prevailing among all the contractual workers of social welfare should be removed and dearness allowance and travel allowance should be paid to Anganwadi workers as well, Android mobile tab of branded company should be supplied with recharge, pension should be implemented.
