On the occasion of World Accreditation Day, Professor (Dr.) Ajai Singh, Executive Director of AIIMS Bhopal, underscored the significance of accreditation in fostering public trust and confidence. Speaking as the Chief Guest at today's program in Bhopal, Professor Singh highlighted that accreditation assures the public that the products, services, and capabilities they rely on adhere to established standards.
"Getting accreditation increases people's confidence," stated Professor Singh. "It guarantees that the institution's work meets high-quality benchmarks, which is crucial for trust and reliability."
Recently, AIIMS Bhopal made history by becoming the first government hospital in Central India to receive accreditation from the National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL) for all its facilities. This accreditation reflects AIIMS Bhopal's commitment to maintaining excellence and rigorous standards in healthcare.
The event was organized by the International Laboratory Testing Cooperation Mutual Recognition Arrangement (ILAC MRA) and NABL. World Accreditation Day, celebrated annually, addresses a unique theme each year. The theme for 2024 is "Accreditation: Empowering Tomorrow and Shaping the Future," focusing on issues such as digitalization, new features, and sustainability.
The ILAC Mutual Recognition Arrangement (ILAC MRA) serves as a crucial technical foundation for the exchange of calibration, testing, medical testing, and inspection results. It also supports the development of proficiency testing programs and the production of reference materials from recognized conformity assessment sources. This framework ensures confidence in various implementations, aiding local and national services like safe food provision, clean energy projects, healthcare, and environmental maintenance.
"Accreditation supports the delivery of essential services that ensure our safety, health, and environment," added Professor Singh. "It is instrumental in building a future where quality and trust are paramount."
