6000 students to chant Bhagvad Gita on Dec 11

Come December 11, the state capital will echo with chants of the Bhagavad Gita as 6,000 students will recite from the scripture to set a new world record, said the district administration on Sunday.

The chanting by the Batuks (Students) will coincide with the commencement of the Chief Minister’s Public Welfare Festival, with camps set up in every village panchayat and ward of the district.

The decisions were announced following a meeting chaired by the Minister for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises and the in-charge minister for Bhopal, Chetanya Kumar Kashyap.The Gita Jayanti programme will be held at the Lal Parade Ground.

Addressing officials at the meeting, Minister Kashyap said that the Chief Minister’s Public Welfare Campaign will begin on December 11 and will conclude on January 26, 2025, on Republic Day.

During this period, the Public Welfare Festival will also be observed. The main objective of the Chief Minister’s Public Welfare Campaign is to ensure that the benefits of government welfare schemes reach all eligible beneficiaries.

The Minister issued instructions for the setting up of camps at all village panchayats and urban local bodies to provide direct benefits to eligible beneficiaries.

He told officials to prepare the groundwork to ensure that the benefits of the schemes reach all eligible individuals. The Minister also instructed that preparations for the event on Gita Jayanti be completed within the stipulated time.

He said that at this event, 6,000 students will chant the Gita together, setting a world record. Additionally, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav will transfer the December month's amount of the 'Laadli Behna Yojana' to beneficiary accounts during the programme.

All district departments have been instructed to work together with coordination and ensure effective action at every level to make the campaign a success.The meeting was attended by Minister of State for Backward Classes and Minority Welfare, Krishna Gaur; MLA Rameshwar Sharma; MLA Bhagwandas Sabnani; Mayor Malti Rai; District Panchayat President Ramkunwar Navrang Gurjar; Municipal Corporation President Kishan Suryavanshi; Collector Kaushalendra Vikram Singh; Police Commissioner Harinarayan Chari Mishra; CEO of District Panchayat Rituraj Singh; Municipal Commissioner Harendra Narayan; and other officials.
