In a tragic incident on Friday afternoon, a 24-year-old woman was allegedly shot dead by her boyfriend at a rented house on Satai Road, Chhatarpur.

The deceased, Bhavna Singh, and the accused, Sachin Yadav, had reportedly planned to end their lives together due to familial opposition to their three-year relationship.

However, the situation took a sinister turn when Sachin allegedly shot Bhavna and then fled the scene instead of following through on their pact. The incident occurred in the Civil Line police station area, where Sachin had called Bhavna to the rented house.

According to initial investigations, Sachin shot Bhavna twice in the head, leaving her dead on the spot. Local authorities were alerted after neighbors reported hearing gunshots.

Chhatarpur SP Aagam Jain confirmed that police found Bhavna's body lying on the bed upon their arrival. Her scooty was discovered parked outside the building.A team from the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) has been deployed to examine the scene, and police are actively investigating the case.

The motive behind the crime remains unclear, but the evidence points to a premeditated act.Bhavna’s life was already marked by tragedy, as her parents had died in a road accident, leaving her to care for her younger brother and two sisters.

Sachin, a resident of Harpalpur and a postgraduate student, had been living in the rented house in Chhatarpur.The incident has sent shockwaves through the community. Sachin remains at large, and police are conducting extensive searches to apprehend him.

Investigators are also exploring the circumstances that led to the alleged murder-suicide pact turning into a case of homicide.
