In the presence of Deputy Commissioner Vijaya Jadhav, two Good Samaritans were honored during a meeting of the Road Safety Committee held in the office chamber of the District Collectorate.
During the district road safety committee meeting, Deputy Commissioner Vijaya Jadhav recognized Bermo block resident Rohit Kumar and Chandrapura resident Kanhaiya Kumar. These two Good Samaritans were acknowledged for their prompt actions in transporting road accident victims to the hospital during the crucial golden hour. The commendation letters were jointly presented by District Transport Officer Vandana Shejwalkar, Sub-Divisional Officer Chas Om Prakash Gupta, and Sub-Divisional Officer Bermo Ashok Kumar.
It is notable that the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has initiated the Good Samaritan scheme. Under this scheme, Good Samaritans are rewarded and given commendation letters for providing immediate assistance to save lives in fatal accidents and ensuring the victims receive medical treatment within the golden hour by transporting them to the nearest hospital/CHC/trauma center.
The primary objective of this scheme is to inspire the general public to assist road accident victims in emergencies and motivate others to save innocent lives.
