196 candidates selected, 25 get on-spot appointment letters, 318 shortlisted in Chas Employment fair

One-day Datopant Thengadi Employment Fair was organized by the Sub-Regional Employment Office, Bokaro, under the aegis of the Jharkhand Government's Department of Labor, Employment, Training, and Skill Development at the Industrial Training Institute (ITI) Chas campus on Saturday.

 

The fair was inaugurated by Deputy Development Commissioner Girija Shankar Prasad, Additional Municipal Commissioner  Anant Kumar, and District Employment Officer  Manoj Manjeet.

 

In his address, DDC Prasad emphasized the government's aim to connect as many candidates as possible with employment and livelihood opportunities matching their skills and qualifications. A total of 22 companies participated in the fair, offering jobs to candidates from various blocks of the district. He encouraged students to not view any job as insignificant and shared examples to illustrate his point.

 

Additional Municipal Commissioner Chas  Anant Kumar highlighted the importance of such fairs in providing a platform for both employers and job seekers. He stressed the need for technical preparedness among youth to seize local employment opportunities and advised candidates to register with the employment office to receive job fair notifications via SMS.

 

District Employment Officer Manoj Manjeet announced plans to organize employment fairs in August and September 2024, aiming to provide more employment opportunities for local youth under the Jharkhand State Employment Act 2021 and the Rules 2022, ensuring 75% of jobs for local candidates.

 

Notably at the fair, 196 candidates were selected, with 25 receiving appointment letters on the spot. Additionally, 318 candidates were shortlisted.

Twenty-two companies participated in the employment fair where approximately 2,000 applicants participated against a total of 1,505 vacancies.

 

The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Kishore Kumar Sinha, with  Shweta Ranjan managing the stage. Present at the event were Principal of ITI Chas Shiv Kumar Prasad, District Skill Coordinator Santosh Chaudhary, Kishore Kumar Sinha, Kasinath Hansda, Sunil Kumar, Santosh Kumar, Indra Kumar, Chandan Kumar Das, Jaydev Kumar, Jayprakash, Ashok Kumar, Murari Paswan, Radheshyam, Nandu Kumar etc
