PM Modi confident of winning Haryana, J and K

Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his whirlwind rallies in polling states exuded confidence to retain BJP in Haryana and form first Government in Jammu and Kashmir.

Seeking a decisive mandate from the people of the Jammu region ahead of the last round of polling on October 1, declared that BJP’s first Government with full majority will be formed in Jammu and Kashmir.

While speaking in Haryana, Modi said stability is a far-fetched thing for the Congress because of its infighting and now everyone in the party is jostling among themselves to become Chief Minister in Haryana with “Bapu” (Bhupinder Singh Hooda) and “Beta” (Deepender Hooda) also the contenders.

Stakes are high for the BJP in the third and final round of polling in Jammu and Kashmir. The party is locked in a straight fight with the Congress on the majority of seats. A handful of independent candidates in the fray are also giving a tough competition to the BJP. The party’s performance in this crucial phase is going to make or mar the chances of Government formation.

BJP won 25 Assembly seats in the 2014 Assembly polls, the highest-ever tally so far. This time, the party is hoping to gain an absolute majority.

Out of 40 Assembly segments, voting is scheduled to take place on the 24 seats spread across the four districts of Jammu, Samba, Kathua, and Udhampur on October 1.

Addressing Vijay Sankalp Maharally in support of BJP candidates at MAM Stadium, the Prime Minister said this assembly election has given the people of Jammu a historic opportunity to decide on the next Government. They need to seize this moment and choose the BJP, Modi said.

During the month-long campaign period, the Prime Minister himself led from the front addressing four election rallies in Doda, Srinagar, and Katra in which he communicated directly with the voters to elect a BJP Government in the maiden Assembly polls after the Abrogation of Articles 370  and 35-A in August 2019.

“This election is going to write a new chapter. Previously Congress, NC, PDP leaders and their families benefited from their Governments while you faced destruction,” Modi told the rally.

Modi said ceasefire violations used to be a routine along the borders in Jammu because “they (Congress) used to show them white flags”.

“The BJP government responded to their bullets with mortar shells to set their mind in the right position.”

“Today is September 28 and you know a surgical strike took place on this day (in 2016). India sent a message to the world that this is a new India, and it strikes inside their homes,” he said.

Accusing the Congress of being under the influence of “urban Naxals”, the Prime Minister alleged, “When intruders come from outside, they feel good because they see them as a vote bank. But for the problems of our own people, they crack jokes.”

Addressing his second poll rally in the day at Hisar in Haryana, the PM recalled the days when he worked for party organisation in Haryana and said, “It has been my fortune that Haryana has given me a lot, taught me a lot.” As voting day draws near, the Congress is falling, Modi said.

Congress leaders have started to say that in Haryana they will face the same situation what the grand old party had to face in Madhya Pradesh, he said and attacked the grand old party on several issues.

In the polls in Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan, the Congress took support of lies, but the balloon of their lies burst and in Haryana too same thing is going to happen, he said.

Modi also said some people are those who dedicatedly served Delhi’s royal family and now even they are asking what fault they committed. “See, atrocities on Dalits (referring to Cong govt’s time in Haryana) which took place in Gohana, but Congress remained silent. During Congress’ rule, Mirchpur incident took place, but they remained silent, there were atrocities and injustice with Dalit daughters, but they remained silent,” he said in presence of Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini and Union minister ML Khattar among others.
