A Jammu-based jeweler and a Bharatiya Janta Party office bearer Rinku Chauhan has crafted a unique gift, a 3-kilogram Lotus flower — a symbol of the party in pure silver, for Prime Minister Narendra Modi to mark his third consecutive term in office. A devout Modi fan, Chauhan along with his friend Sudesh Khajuria initially thought of gifting a unique gift to the Prime Minister after he fulfilled the agenda of the party to abrogate Article 370 which granted special status to Jammu and Kashmir and also fulfilled the dream of constructing the Ram temple in Ayodhya.
Chauhan, who is a spokesperson of the party’s youth wing Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) along with his close friend Sudhesh Khajuria had originally conceived the idea of giving a unique gift to the Prime Minister
Chauhan told The Pioneer, "I have personally crafted the Lotus flower in silver and am waiting to present it to him in the coming weeks.”
Both Chauhan and his wife Anjali are waiting their turn to meet the Prime Minister.
Rinku Chauhan told The Pioneer, "Soon after the decision was taken to craft a party symbol in pure silver I started working on the design and procured the material.
Before the oath ceremony on Sunday, Rinku showcased the hand-crafted silver Lotus at his residence and once again appealed to the party leaders to facilitate his early meeting with the Prime Minister so that he could personally hand over the party symbol to him.
Speaking to The Pioneer, Rinku Chouhan said I have requested J&K Unit Chief Ravinder Raina and other senior office bearers to facilitate his meeting with the Prime Minister at the earliest. He said that when the Prime Minister arrived here in Udhampur to address an election rally he attempted to meet him but in vain.
Displaying the well-framed gift, he said he used all his experience to design the unique gift. I hope Prime Minister Modi will like this gift as he is like a god to me.” His wife Anjali Chauhan said they are eagerly waiting for the opportunity to meet the Prime Minister to hand over this gift to him.
