RPF of NFR apprehends 44 illegal immigrants

The Railway Protection Force (RPF) of Northeast Frontier Railway apprehended 44 Bangladeshi nationals and one Indian agent at Agartala and New Alipurduar railway Stations in different drives conducted during 16 th to 30 th June, 2024. Moreover, RPF rescued 29 minors and one woman from different stations over N. F. Railway during this period. RPF also apprehended one human trafficker.

In a recent incident of 30 th June, 2024, RPF & GRP team of Agartala and SIB team of Badarpur, jointly conducted a routine check at Agartala railway station.

 While checking, they detected sixteen Bangladeshi nationals. On interrogation they could not produce any valid documents and later confessed that they entered India illegally. Later, all sixteen were apprehended and brought to RPF/Post/Agartala and handed over to Officer In-charge/Government Railway Police/ Agartala for further legal action.
