Rahul Gandhi likens PM Modi to US president Biden

Sunday, 17 November 2024 | TN RAGHUNATHA | Mumbai

In his retaliation against Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Saturday charged that Modi was suffering from “memory loss” like outgoing US President Joe Biden.

Addressing an election rally at Amravati in Vidarbha region, Rahul likened Modi to outgoing US President Joe Biden and said that the Prime Minister was suffering from “memory loss” like the latter.

“My sister tells me that these days PM Modi is raising  the same issues that I have been raising…  I told Modi in the Lok Sabha that a caste census should be conducted and the 50 per cent cap on reservations should be removed.  I am told that Modi is saying at his election rallies that I am against reservation. Looks like he is suffering from memory loss like Biden,” Rahul said.

Contesting PM’s oft-repeated comment that the book of Constitution he  (Rahul) contained blank pages,  Rahul opened the red book in his hand  which contained matter and showed it to the audiences to prove that it was not a book of blank pages.

“The Congress considers the Constitution as the country's DNA, but for the ruling BJP, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and Modi, it is a "blank book".

“The BJP is subverting the Constitution, which encompasses the wisdom and thoughts of great men. The BJP has stolen away the MVA government and installed an unconstitutional government in Maharashtra,” Rahul said.

Rahul said that “while Modi talks on several issues in his Man Ki Baat, but is silent on the concerns of the common people who have been suffering on multiple fronts for too long” Rahul, who also addressed an election rally at Chandrapur, demanded to know from Modi and BJP on why they had chosen to remain silent on the opposition’s demands for a Caste Census.
