Kerala vedic scholars caution Modi against swearing on Saturday

The decision of the National Democratic Alliance to hold the swearing in of Narendra Modi as Prime Minister on Saturday is not advisable, according to three Kerala based vedic and astrological scholars. They also said the swearing in could be done either on Friday or Sunday which are auspicious.

According to news reports, the swearing in of Modi as Prime Minister for the third time is being scheduled for Saturday at Rashtrapathi Bhavan. “This Saturday we have Thiruvathira (Ardra) as the star and hence it is not an auspicious day. If the assumption of power happens on this Saturday, the government so formed would not last long,” said Parappanangadi Unnikrishna Panickar, Vedic scholar, author and columnist. It was Panickar who made the astrological forecast in The Pioneer dated 14 March 2024 that Modi would return to power as Prime Minister.

Kayamkulam based Vedic pundit Gopala Menon, who is the chief priest (Thanthri)  of many temples and his son Dr Gireeshan (an electronic scientist-turned-astrologer) too concurred with Panickar’s finding and said that Saturday was not an ideal day for any auspicious beginning because of the influence yielded by Ardra.

Panickar pointed out that Moon is the ruling star positioned in the 8th Raasi from Modi’s birth raasi. “It is Chandrashtamam to put it simply. Aardra is one of the seven stars which should be avoided at any cost for the longevity and success of any mission,” he said.
