CM Yogi reviews Mahakumbh preparations ahead of Modi's visit

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath visited Prayagraj on Thursday to oversee preparations for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s highly anticipated visit on Friday where PM is set to inaugurate projects worth thousands of crores for Mahakumbh 2025.

During his visit, CM Yogi conducted a comprehensive ground inspection of Mahakumbh Nagar and key sites, including the Sangam Nose, where the Prime Minister is scheduled to perform rituals. He provided clear directives to officials to ensure smooth execution of the events and seamless arrangements for devotees and dignitaries.

Mela Officer Vijay Kiran Anand briefed CM Yogi on arrangements for the PM’s cruise tour, and the Chief Minister provided essential guidelines while emphasizing the need to maintain the Ganga’s cleanliness.

The Chief Minister also visited several important locations, such as the temporary 100-bed hospital built in Sector One Parade. During his inspection, CM Yogi reviewed critical areas like the Emergency Ward, ICU, OPD, and the operation theatre. The hospital boasts advanced facilities, including AI-powered cameras in the ICU and a state-of-the-art laboratory. Pleased with the innovations, CM Yogi emphasized the need for proper staffing, availability of medicines, and enhanced ventilation to ensure top-notch care for devotees during the Mahakumbh.

The temporary hospital, built with support from the Cantt Board and Medanta doctors, is set to serve as a critical healthcare facility for Mahakumbh 2025, including a 10-bed ICU. CM Yogi expressed satisfaction with the arrangements, urging officials to ensure efficient functioning.

At the Akshay Vat Corridor within the Prayag Fort, CM Yogi inspected the ongoing Smart City development work. He appreciated the corridor’s beautification and praised highlights such as the child form statue of Shri Krishna and the Sapt Rishis' artwork.CM Yogi also visited the Bade Hanuman Mandir Corridor on the Sangam coast, where Phase-1 development is underway by the Prayagraj Development Authority (PDA). After reviewing the progress, he performed aarti and prayed for the well-being of all citizens. He urged the PDA to accelerate work to ensure timely completion of the temple corridor.

The CM also visited Akharas in Sector 20, inspecting arrangements at Shri Panchayati Akhara Bada Udasin, Shri Panchayati Akhara Niranjani, and Anand Akhara. He interacted with saints and assured them of his future visit. CM Yogi also reviewed external arrangements at other Akharas to ensure they meet expectations.

Finally, CM Yogi conducted a final inspection at Triveni Marg, Ganga Riverfront Road Jhunsi, and Chhatnag Ghat, directing officials to ensure all necessary facilities are in place for the devotees during Mahakumbh 2025.

Throughout his visit, CM Yogi was accompanied by Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya, Jal Shakti Minister Swatantradev Singh, Industrial Development Minister Nand Gopal Gupta Nandi, Tourism Minister Jaiveer Singh, former minister and MLA Siddharthnath Singh, along with other leaders and officials.

The meticulous inspections and directives issued by CM Yogi aim to ensure a seamless and spiritually enriching experience for the millions of devotees expected to attend the grand Mahakumbh 2025.
