BJP vows to form Government in J&K with public support

Sunday, 07 July 2024 | Mohit Kandhari | Jammu

Determined to form a Government on its strength in the Union Territory of Jammu Kashmir, upbeat Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) leadership on Saturday took a pledge at the 'Vistarit Karyasamiti Baithak to install its Chief Minister with the support of the common masses.

The party leaders who attended the meeting maintained the party workers are fully geared up for the upcoming Assembly polls and will leave no stone unturned to achieve its goal of forming the next government in Jammu Kashmir.

The party is expected to consolidate its base in the Jammu region ahead of the Assembly polls to ensure its victory.

Out of 46 Assembly segments of Jammu region BJP secured majority votes across 29 Assembly constituencies in the recently held Lok Sabha polls.

National President JP Nadda along with Union Ministers G Kishan Reddy and Jitendra Singh, National General Secretary in charge J&K, Tarun Chugh, and other prominent leaders of the BJP including former deputy chief ministers Nirmal Singh and Kavinder Gupta attended the meeting.

Briefing media persons, J & K BJP Unit Chief Ravinder Raina said that BJP National President JP Nadda directed the party workers to get ready for the elections to secure a full majority for the BJP.

Raina said the National President also discussed the party's roadmap for upcoming elections in Jammu and Kashmir.

More than 2000 party leaders attended the meeting which was organised on the occasion of the 123rd birth anniversary of BJP ideologue Syama Prasad Mookerjee.

In his fiery speech, JP Nadda maintained the people of Jammu and Kashmir had already rejected the dynastic rule and had elected common people to power. Lashing at the congress party, Nadda said they have failed to cross the 100-seat mark in three Lok Sabha polls. Today the Congress party has zero seats in 13 states and was dependent on the votes of its allies to win the elections.

Addressing the meeting J&K Unit Chief Ravinder Raina slammed the Congress and the National Conference for allegedly exploiting different sections of people for vote bank politics.

Boosting the morale of the party workers to work as a cohesive unit, Raina said,"We have to take a pledge before leaving this meeting that we will work to achieve a majority in the next assembly elections. We pledge to form the next government on our own and have a BJP chief minister and we have to work together to achieve this goal".

He said the Congress and NC have exploited different sections of the people for vote bank and “it was the Prime Minister Modi-led government which provided justice to different deprived sections of the society, including West Pakistani and PoJK refugees, Gujjars, Bakerwals and Paharis.”

"BJP under the leadership of Modi healed the wounds of the people and ensured restoration of peace, prosperity, and development. It was the BJP that strengthened gross-root level democracy by implementing the 73rd and 74th constitutional amendments and bridged ‘Dil and Dilli ki Doori'. If there is any pending issue that is getting back Pakistan-occupied Kashmir,” he said.

Union Minister Reddy, who is BJP's election in charge for J&K, said the meet is part of the party's nationwide programme to prepare a roadmap for the next three to four months after the formation of the NDA-led government at the centre for the third term.
