"Today, before taking oath by participating in the first session of the Parliament, I remembered mother Sushma Swaraj and planted a tree in her name," Swaraj shared while planting the tree under the 'ek ped ma k naam' campaign launched by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi. After her oath was administered, she also shared that she is committed to fulfilling the resolve of a developed, prosperous and self-reliant India. She also wore her mother's saree for the occasion.

The seven Delhi BJP MPs took the oath as Members of Parliament on Monday, the first day of the 18th Lok Sabha's first session. It was a big day for the parliamentarians as most of them, except three times North East Delhi BJP MP Manoj Tiwari, took oath for the first time.

South Delhi BJP MP Ramvir Singh Bidhuri bowed his head before entering the Parliament premises on the first day of the first session of the Lok Sabha. "I entered the temple of democracy with my head bowed. I am very grateful to the respected Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP National President JP Nadda and Home Minister Amit Shah, along with the entire public of South Delhi, for bringing these unforgettable moments in my life!," he said. He wore a white kurta and vest for the ceremony.
