Baweja is new director (finance), REC Limited
Gurugram: Harsh Baweja has taken charge as Director (Finance) at REC Limited after the approval from the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) on May 10. Baweja’s appointment follows the recommendation by PESB, which identified him as the ideal candidate for the role after a rigorous selection process involving 11 candidates. Baweja, a seasoned Chartered Accountant, brings with him an extensive experience of over 33 years in managing financial & business operations across multiple institutions. With over three decades of expertise in finance and a background as a Chartered Accountant, Baweja’s appointment underscores his proven track record in navigating complex financial landscapes.

SAIL launches progressive HR initiatives
New Delhi: To strengthen the culture of sustained learning and development in the organisation, Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) on May 14 launched a number of key progressive Human Resource (HR) initiatives. SAIL has introduced the policy of Work from Other than Workplace, which was launched by Amarendu Prakash, chairman, SAIL. Under this policy, an employee will be allowed to work from other than workplace on undertaking a prescribed self-development activity.
SAARC Secretary General visits SaU
New Delhi: Md Golam Sarwar, Secretary General of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC), visited the South Asian University on May 14. He was warmly received by SAU officials, and students from across South Asian Countries. Sarwar met the president, Professor KK Aggarwal, who briefed him about the journey of the university, the new programmes introduced and avenues for future development. Sarwar appreciated SAU for the achievements it has had in such a short period and underlined the impressive campus and infrastructure of its permanent campus in Maidan Garhi.
