Yogi call to form triple-engine govt

Saturday, 29 April 2023 | PNS | Lucknow

On the fourth day of the election campaign, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath gave a call for formation of a triple-engine government of the Bharatiya Janata Party during public meetings in Sitapur, Lakhimpur Kheri and Balrampur.

He also made a scathing attack on the opposition parties.

“On the lines of Kashi, Ayodhya and Mathura-Vrindavan, Naimisharanya will soon undergo a facelift that will boost religious tourism here and lead to numerous employment opportunities in every sector,” Yogi Adityanath said in Sitapur.

Addressing a rally in favour of Bharatiya Janata Party candidates in Sitapur, the chief minister said that similar to Kashi, Ayodhya and Mathura-Vrindavan, Naimisharanya would soon undergo a facelift that would boost religious tourism and lead to numerous employment opportunities in every sector.

He compared the municipal elections in UP to ‘Devasur sangram’ and said, “From this land of Naimisharanya, Maharishi Dadhichi once donated his bones to make weapons for the victory of the divine forces. Now is the perfect opportunity to use this election to teach the demonic, corrupt, miscreants, mafia and criminals a lesson.”

Maintaining that Naimisharanya's history dates back thousands of years, the chief minister said that this place had always served as a centre of faith for all because it contained the complete wisdom of Indian sages.

The chief minister noted that the government had started the work of rejuvenating Naimisharanya. “Very soon, electric buses will begin operating in this area. Not only this, helicopter service is going to start here in the next few months. Roads will be widened. If Naimisharanya is rejuvenated, lakhs of crores of tourists will come here, generating employment in every sector,” he said.

In Lakhimpur Kheri, Yogi Adityanath said, “Today, the public has faith in the BJP and its workers as under its rule, security, good governance, welfare of citizens and prosperity are guaranteed. With the installation of the third engine with the double-engine government, all the facilities will reach every village, street, farmer and youth. This will help in finishing the corrupt, mafia and criminals in the state.”

Flaying the Samajwadi Party, the Bahujan Samaj Party and the Congress, the chief minister said that the previous governments failed to ensure the prosperity of the region as per its potential and stalled development. “The farmers in Lakhimpur possess the power of feeding the state and the country. The sweetness of the sugar mills here reaches the country and the world. We have prepared a comprehensive action plan to further the development of Lakhimpur,” he said.

“Along with facilities like four-lane roads, technical education, Lakhimpur will soon have its own medical college and the government will also develop its airstrip into an airport. Lakhimpur will serve as the hub of ecotourism, which will open new avenues for the region’s development,” Yogi asserted.

Slamming the opposition, Yogi said that it was only the BJP which during the COVID-19 crisis reached out to the public and ensured their well-being. “We also provided a free ration facility. Whether it is welfare schemes for the poor or infrastructure, we have taken care of everything,” he concluded.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said in Balrampur that before 2017, it took him four hours to travel from Gonda to the Devipatan temple, but now this distance was being covered in just 45 minutes.

The chief minister went on to say, “The mafias who used to grab all the funds for streets, drains, housing for the poor, and electricity, among others, had been put behind bars.” He said dons and professional criminals who used to proudly roam in streets were now begging for mercy with placards around their necks.

Stating that India was changing today, Yogi said that significant work on infrastructure development was being done in the country. “Large institutions, airports and medical colleges are coming up in the state. The Saryu Canal National Project, which had been delayed for 50 years, was completed by the double-engine government,” he said.

Yogi said that nobody ever thought that three medical colleges would be opened in Devipatan commissionerate. He said construction of medical colleges had started in Bahraich and Gonda, while in Balrampur it was now complete. He said the Shravasti airport was in the final stages of construction. “If the people of Balrampur have to go to Lucknow via Delhi or go anywhere else, they will now get the facility of an airport in Bahraich itself,” he said.
