Vedanta-ESL Steel Limited organised a Pond Cleaning and Plantation drive to celebrate the World Environment Day. The event took place in the morning of the 3rd of June 2023 at Gidhtand Pond, Hutupather Village, Siyaljori. Around 70 families use the Gidhtand pond for all their daily domestic water requirements. Notably, Ram Pravesh Kumar (Regional Officer, JSPCB, Regional office Dhanbad), Ashutosh Anand (C.E.) and team were the guests of honour for the event. They were accompanied by Venkatesan R (CHSESO, ESL) along with the Environment and CSR team.
The event started off with a welcome speech given by Ashutosh Anand followed by the plantation around the area and cleaning of the pond for the health and wellbeing of the villagers. The guests appreciated the organisation’s incessant efforts of being a responsible corporate. Vedanta ESL frequently does its bit to take care of the health and wellness of the community members through its regular initiatives - a commitment towards transforming for good.
