Paying tributes to former Governor and Bharatiya Janata Party leader Lalji Tandon on his third death anniversary, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that Lalji Tandon’s journey was truly remarkable, starting from humble beginnings to reaching great heights wherein he had worked to carry forward the esteemed legacy of Atal ji in Lucknow.
Emphasising Lalji’s journey, the chief minister mentioned that he served as a general party worker, corporator, legislator, Member of the Legislative Council, minister in the state government, Member of Parliament and governor of Bihar and Madhya Pradesh.
“Lalji Tandon showcased his experience and competence, benefiting the states and setting an example for others,” he said.
“He had a personal connection with Lucknow, and the people here still remember him dearly. His love, respect and communication with people of all castes, religions and beliefs were extraordinary. Today, he is no longer with us, but on his third death anniversary, I offer my heartfelt homage on behalf of the state government,” the chief minister added.
Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak, Jal Shakti Minister Swatantra Dev Singh and other senior Bharatiya Janata Party leaders also paid tributes to Tandon by garlanding his statue in Hazratganj.
