Several parts of the State are likely to get relief from the ongoing heat wave with the weather office predicting thunderstorms at these places in the next 24 hours.
The Regional Office of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) here on Tuesday issued a Yellow warning to several districts on Wednesday’s weather condition.
“Thunderstorms with lightning as very likely to occur at one or two places in the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Nabarangapur, Gajapati, Ganjam, Kandhamal, Nayagarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Cuttack, Jajpur, Bhadrak, Baleswar, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj," said the IMD.
The weather office further predicted no large changes in the maximum temperature (day temperature) at many places in the districts during the next five days.
It is likely to be 42 degree Celsius or more at a few places during the next five days in the districts of Sundargarh, Sambalpur, Angul, Boudh, Subarnapur, Balangir, Jharsuguda and Bargarh, the IMD said.
