The Regional Office of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) here on Thursday issued a Yellow Warning of thunderstorm and lightning for eight districts in the State for next 24 hours.
Thunderstorm with lightening is very likely to occur at one or two places in the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Kandhamal, Gajapati, Mayurbhanj, and Baleswar on Friday. A yellow alert was issued for these districts during the period.
The weather office also forecast that light to moderate rain or thundershower to very likel occur at isolated places in the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Nuapada, Rayagada, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Gajapati, Ganjam, Puri, Nayagarh, Khordha, Boudh, Angul, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Baleswar and Bhadrak.
Dry weather is very likely to prevail in the rest of the districts during the next 24 hours.
The maximum temperature (day temperature) is very likely to rise by 2 to 4 degree Celsius at many places in the State during next two days and no large change thereafter, the IMD said.
