Exuberant celebrations filled the air in the KIIT and KISS campuses here on Wednesday evening as students came together after the historic achievement of Chandrayaan-3's successful landing on the moon's surface.
As the lunar mission made its gentle descent onto the moon and touched down on the lunar surface, the live visuals of which were streamed on television screens, more than 60,000 students of KIIT and KISS broke into spontaneous celebration.
In keeping with the wishes of KIIT and KISS founder Dr Achyuta Samanta, the administrations of the institutions had made elaborate arrangements to enable students, faculties and staffs to witness the historic event in real-time. Across the campuses, digital display boards attracted large gatherings of students.
Students of the DAV Public School, Chandrasekharpur here also jubilantly celebrated the successful landing of the Chandrayaan-3 at the South Pole of the moon. Regional Director of DAV Institutions, Odisha Dr KC Satapathy, Principal of the school Dr Sujata Sahu, Coordinator Indira Bhattacharya, Academic Supervisors and teachers were also present to witness the historic moment and encourage the students.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik thanked the scientists of ISRO for the successful landing of Chandrayaan-3 on the moon.
He said, “This is a tremendous scientific achievement for India.”
Patnaik watched the landing live on television at the Naveen Niwas along with Secretary to CM (5-T) VK Pandian and officers of the CMO.
