The Congress party in Madhya Pradesh has received another big blow today from the Vindhya region after Siddharth Tiwari, grandson of former Assembly Speaker late Shrinivas Tiwari, known as the Lion of Vindhya, left the Congress today and joined the BJP.
Siddharth Tiwari has contested elections from Rewa Lok Sabha seat in the year 2019 on Congress ticket. It is believed that BJP can give assembly ticket to Siddharth Tiwari from Rewa.
He took the membership of BJP in Bhopal in the presence of CM Shivraj Singh Chauhan and State President VD Sharma.
Siddharth Tiwari has contested elections from Rewa Lok Sabha seat in the year 2019 on Congress ticket. Along with Siddharth Tiwari, former MLA Phunderlal Chaudhary from Gunnaur seat of Panna also joined BJP.
It is being said that Congress may suffer loss of Brahmin votes in Vindhya due to Siddharth Tiwari joining BJP after Abhay Mishra. Siddharth Tiwari was denied ticket to contest by Congress.
At the BJP office in Bhopal, Siddharth Tiwari said that he has taken this decision after being influenced by the ideology of BJP and Prime Minister Modi. They are joining BJP because of the development that has taken place in the country and the state during the BJP rule. He said that today every patriotic youth will say that the country is progressing under the leadership of Modi.
Before the date of assembly elections was announced, former Congress MLA Abhay Mishra and his wife Neelam Mishra had given a shock to the Congress in Vindhya and joined BJP. After this, a big question was raised as to why the Mishra couple returned home. Actually, Abhay Mishra had written a letter to PCC Chief Kamal Nath and made serious allegations against Rewa District Congress in-charge and former MP Pratap Bhanu Sharma.
In the letter given to Kamal Nath, he has written that Pratap Bhanu Sharma is the maternal uncle and father-in-law of the real brother of BJP MLA from Semaria, KP Tripathi. They are maintaining a relationship. At the behest of the BJP MLA, they want to get tickets from Congress to such candidates. So that it becomes easier for BJP to win.
After this Abhay Mishra and his wife Neelam Mishra joined BJP.
In the 2018 elections, BJP had got 26 seats out of 30 seats in Vindhya region. This time it is a big challenge for BJP to repeat the old results. At the same time, the increasing resentment of the leaders in Congress can make its path difficult.
Meanwhile, The Bharatiya Janata Party kick-started a three-day outreach program in 65,000 booths across 12,000 locations in the poll-bound state on Monday.
The party functionaries, on the condition of anonymity, stated that the outreach program would mark the beginning of BJP's election campaign, followed by doorstep reaching, and public rallies. Under this booth Vijay Abhiyan (victory campaign), the party cadre will take a pledge to ensure the BJP's win at every booth in Madhya Pradesh.
Madhya Pradesh's BJP wing has recently said it will soon come out with fifth list for the Assembly election scheduled for next month.
Speculations are rife that Central Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia might also contest for a post in the state for the first time.
