In view of the increasing heat in Jharkhand, the Department of School Education and Literacy has issued an order to close the school for two days. All schools in Jharkhand will remain closed from KG to Class VIII from June 19 to June 21. This order has been issued for government, non-government, aided, unaided and private schools. Secretary, Department of School Education and Literacy, K Ravi Kumar has issued the order.
While classes from class 9 to 12 will run from 07.00 am to 11.00 am. During this period, information will be given after taking a separate decision regarding compensating for the loss in the education of the children.
Government schools of Jharkhand have opened on 5th June. Children are finding it difficult to go to school in the hot sun. Several organizations had also written letters to Chief Minister Hemant Soren and K Ravi Kumar, Secretary, Department of School Education and Literacy. At the same time, a member of the Jharkhand Child Protection Commission had also written a letter to the Education Secretary urging him to extend the summer vacation. In many districts of Jharkhand, the temperature is above 41.
In the emergency meeting held today under the chairmanship of State President Alok Kumar Dubey of Paswa, in view of the scorching heat, it has been decided to keep the private schools closed till June 17 and all the private schools of the state have been urged to open the schools from June 19. .
Keeping in mind the demand of the Private School and Children Welfare Association (PASWA), the Chief Minister of the State has ordered the closure of all Government, non-Government and private schools in the state till June 14. PASWA is addressing all the 47 thousand private school administrators, parents, children and teachers of Jharkhand. PASWA extended thanks to the Chief Minister.
PASWA welcomes this decision keeping in mind the harsh summer conditions, but PASWA clearly believes that the monsoon is likely to arrive in the State around June 19 and the Meteorological Department has also predicted a heat wave for the next four-five days and a red alert has been issued. Therefore, all private schools of Jharkhand are requested to be closed till June 17th, 2023 and all schools will be operational from June 19.
The State PASWA Chief, Alok Kumar Dubey said thousands of parents have come to the State PASWA demanding extension of summer vacations and people have contacted over the telephone from the state and province, while doctors of many private and Government hospitals and social and political parties have also demanded extension of summer vacation of schools from PASWA.
