14 children of the primitive vulnerable tribal group primary residential school were hospitalized for various complaints at the community health centre at Barwadeeh on Saturday night who have made fast recovery said Ashish Ranjan the medical officer in-charge of the centre . The 14 had common symptoms of abdomen pain, cold, cough and fever said the doctor Ranjan. 

Ranjan said this could be either a viral infection or could be due to some irregularities in food. All 14 are expected to be discharged from the community health centre at Barwadeeh this Sunday night. 

This is the second episode of mass sickness in Latehar district when the next day of Sarhul, 35 plus people were admitted to the community health centre at Chandwa and at the sub health centre at Sasang with symptoms of vomiting and diarrhea. These people had eaten gram and jaggery. 

Warden of the residential school Renu Prakash Senapati said we took immediate care of our inmates and saved the situation. 

Ved Prakash a senior health official of the sadar hospital Latehar said the children were rushed from their residential school at Kutmu to the community health centre at Barwadeeh by ambulance and the medical team at this centre did every effort to get them well soon. 

Ved Prakash further said a team of health officials also examined the inmates of this school at Kutmu. 

B Tatma project director of the integrated tribal development agency Latehar district on Sunday inspected this residential school. 

Later speaking to the Pioneer Tatma said there had come two girls from home having symptoms of cold and cough and probably it caused an infection to as many as 14 girl inmates of this residential school.
