Regional Museum of Natural History, Bhopal inaugurated Temporary Exhibitionson "Lifestyle to Reduce Waste"and "Climate Change and Sustainable Lifestyle - Learning With Fun" on the occasion of 26th Anniversary of the Museum on Friday.
Padmapriya Balakrishnan, IFS, Director, Van Vihar National Park, Bhopal was the Chief Guest and Dr. Manoj Kumar Kurmi, Superintending Archaeologist, Archaeological Survey of India, Bhopal Circle, Bhopalwas the Guest of Honour of the programme.
Two exhibitions were inaugurated during this occasion. Under "Lifestyle to Reduce Waste". Exhibition; Classification of waste, Sources of Waste, Causes of waste generation, Waste management, Principal of solid waste management, Techniques of waste management, Impact of waste on health and environment, Lifestyle to reduce wasteare displayed.
Under "Climate Change and Sustainable Lifestyle - Learning With Fun"exhibition; Our lives alongside climate change, Play to save your Planet are displayed. Various games like snakes & ladder game; Try your luck: Wheel of climate change game arepart of this exhibition.
A Painting Competitionwas also organized 29th September, 2023 for the students of class 9th to 12thon the theme "Sustainable Water Conservation Methods". 143 students from 13 schools of Bhopal participated in the competition.
Anniversary programme began with National Antham while of Asha Niketan Deaf Hr. Sec. School, Bhopal presented National Anthem in sing language.
Scientist-in-charge of the museum Dr. Beenish Rafat welcomed the Chief Guest, Guest of Honour, invitees, teachers from various schools, students, prizewinners of various competitions and museum staff. She congratulated to allguests on the occasion of 26th anniversary of museum. She detailed about the works of museum towards the conservation of environment.
Manik Lal Gupta, Scientist-C of the museum administered Green Pledge for the audience with the objective of conservation and cleanliness of environment.
